Welcome to Volley Paws! These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Volley Paws game (the "Game"). The Game is published and operated by Sekai ("we", "us"). By launching the Game, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Game.
Volley Paws is a multiplayer beach volleyball game played as an Activity inside Discord. It is free to play: no purchase is needed to play. It offers online matches with other players, offline matches against bots, a season pass and optional cosmetics.
Offline play (against bots) grants no XP or rewards, because our server cannot verify it.
Cosmetic only. Everything you can earn or buy in the Game is purely cosmetic (hats, coats, ball trails, celebrations, emotes, frames, banners, emblems) and gives no gameplay advantage. Nothing is random: there are no loot boxes or draws, and you see the exact item and its price before paying. There is no virtual currency.
Licence, not ownership. A cosmetic, whether earned for free or bought, gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it in the Game, revocable in the cases set out in §7. You do not own it. Cosmetics and vouchers have no cash value, and cannot be traded, resold, exchanged for money or moved to another account.
Vouchers. If a purchase arrives without a recorded item choice, or for an item you have meanwhile come to own, you get a voucher worth "1 item" of the same tier, to spend on any item of that tier.
Season pass. Each season lasts about 8 weeks. The free track is open to everyone; the premium track is bought once per season. XP is only earned online, under anti-abuse rules (minimum match length, daily cap). Levels cannot be bought. The premium track of a finished season remains available to buy, with the rewards of the level you reached in it.
Discord is the seller. Purchases are made only inside Discord, through its payment system, and are governed by Discord's Paid Services Terms. Discord collects the payment: the price, currency, taxes and payment method are those Discord shows you at checkout. We never receive your payment details.
Desktop only. Discord does not currently allow purchases in Activities on mobile. On mobile you can see and equip everything you own, but you cannot buy anything.
Delivery. The item you chose is delivered immediately after Discord confirms the purchase. If it does not show up, restart the Game, then write to us at support@volleypaws.com with the purchase date.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Discord under its Refund Policy. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the delivered item(s) are removed from your inventory (and unequipped), the unused voucher is cancelled, and the premium track of the season concerned is removed along with the premium rewards claimed through it.
Right of withdrawal (EU). Cosmetics are digital content supplied immediately after purchase. Under Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU (French Consumer Code, Art. L221-28 13°), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply if, before buying, you expressly agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged that you thereby lose this right. The Game collects this agreement on the purchase sheet, right above the "Débloquer" (Unlock) button: "Contenu livré immédiatement : en achetant, tu renonces au délai de rétractation de 14 jours." ("Delivered immediately: by buying, you waive the 14-day withdrawal period."). Without that agreement, you may withdraw within 14 days of purchase by asking Discord (Refund Policy above) or us at support@volleypaws.com; the item is then removed as for a refund.
Legal guarantee. You benefit from the statutory guarantee of conformity for digital content (French Consumer Code, Art. L224-25-12 et seq.). If a purchased item does not work as described, write to us at support@volleypaws.com.
You must not:
Depending on severity, and after informing you when possible: warning, reset of XP obtained abusively, removal of items obtained through fraud, temporary suspension, permanent ban from the Game. You can contest a sanction at support@volleypaws.com. A sanction for serious misconduct does not entitle you to a refund of purchases, without prejudice to your statutory rights.
The Game is provided "as is" and may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or because of an issue at Discord or our host. We may change the Game (balancing, content, item appearance) without removing an item you own, unless it raises a legal or security issue.
If we decide to shut the Game down, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, in the Game, and stop sales as soon as it is announced.
The Game, its characters, visuals, sounds and code belong to Sekai or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. You receive a limited, personal, non-commercial licence to use the Game. You may share screenshots and videos of your matches, including monetised ones, as long as you do not suggest they come from us.
We do our best to keep the Game running. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, or for interruptions caused by Discord, your device or your connection. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights consumers have under the law, or our liability for gross negligence or personal injury.
We will notify you in the Game before any significant change. Continuing to play after it takes effect means you accept it.
These Terms are governed by French law. If a dispute arises, please write to us first at support@volleypaws.com so we can look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the competent courts are those designated by law; if you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country and the right to bring proceedings before the courts where you live.
